I'm gonna be straight with you... last year, when I first came up with the idea for the Year of Writing Magically workshop, I had no idea if it was going to work. At all. I knew that I wanted to write again. I knew the value of community while writing. I knew that I wanted to share what I'd learned in the process of writing and traditionally publishing 12 novels. And I knew that there were writers out there who had stories inside of them, but didn't know how to get started. So I put this thing together, threw it out there... ... and got more participants than I ever expected. Even better: I wrote my first book in almost nine years. I also learned one thing last year that has been so incredibly valuable to me. You will never know what is possible until you try. Of the 20+ people who wrote alongside me in the Year of Writing Magically 2023 cohort, more than half are on track to finish their projects by the end of the year. And the ones who didn't said they got farther on their story than they would if they hadn't been part of this cohort. Not only that, but because they have all the course materials available to them even after the course ends, everyone will have the support they need to finish their novels and screenplays. Next year, that could be you.
