How Story Works

So... I did a thing.

I created a new writing challenge on impulse.

Which is kinda how I do everything.

Here's the thing with me.

I get ideas and... I just do it. That's how I started writing novels, it's how I started podcasting, it's how Chipperish started, and most recently, it's how the Year of Writing Magically started.

And this week, while driving back from my writing retreat in Seattle (which was amazing) instead of thinking about the book, I was thinking about the Year of Writing Magically, and what a success it was at getting people to write their stories, but how sad I was that I could only offer it to 20 people a year.

And then... I had an idea.

Fast forward a few days and... I did a thing.

It's a writing challenge called the Running of the WIPs. I run it very simply through Substack, it goes from September to June (Back to School energy, y'all) and it's both scalable and affordable.

Anyone who wants to do it can do it.

But you, as a subscriber to this newsletter, are the only ones who know about it now. I haven't announced it anywhere. I wanted to tell you first.
